Do any of the following statements apply to you:

  • Are you a female aged 40 or older?

  • Has anxiety started impacting your life?

  • Putting on weight, especially your belly, and unable to shift it?

  • Have you got random joint and muscle pain for no reason?

  • Feeling completely exhausted and lacking energy?

  • Brain fog making you feel useless and unable to do simple tasks?

  • Hot flashes and night sweats getting you down?

  • Feel like you're on an emotional rollercoaster and feel great one minute but angry and tearful the next?

  • Confused by all of the mixed messages in the media about what you should or shouldn't do to get through the menopause?

The average age of menopause in the UK is 51 years old, but perimenopause (the 5-10 years leading up to menopause when your hormones start to fluctuate and you experience menopausal symptoms) tends to start in your 40s but can start as early as your 30s!

Perimenopause is the KEY TIME to optimise your long term physical and mental wellbeing

while you still have your natural female hormones to use to your advantage.

The Stronger & Fitter You are when you reach the Menopause,

the Stronger & Fitter You will be for the rest of your life!

After menopause our physical & mental decline is age related, not hormonally driven.  As we can't stop time, there is little we can do to stop it.

Make a difference while you still can!

Physical activity and exercise have a positive influence on menopause related health problems, especially weight gain (and fat distribution - "meno belly"), bone density (and osteoporosis risk) and cardiovascular problems. Sadly you can’t “bank” exercise that you have done in the past. It doesn’t matter if you were super active during school or “used” to play sport. You need to get active (and stay active) prior to, during and post menopause to reap the health benefits.

About Me & the 'Outrun The Menopause' Members Club

I'm Nicky Edwards, a physiotherapist with a specialist interest in perimenopause and female specific training and nutrition.

I am passionate about helping women navigate perimenopause and menopause with accurate, science backed information so that they can make informed decisions about their own health and wellbeing.

There is so much awful, inaccurate information about menopause and supposed 'solutions' on the internet. It's overwhelming, especially if you are experiencing anxiety and brain fog and feeling exhausted and in pain. Some companies are making huge profits selling so called 'miracle products' to women who will pay anything to end their suffering

That's why I wanted to create a safe space where all information is backed up science that you can trust.

There is also a huge 'push' towards taking HRT in the UK with so many well known doctors and celebrities promoting it's use. I'm certainly not anti-HRT, I absolutely believe it has a role to play for some women. But it's not the magic silver bullet everyone is expecting it to be, and it's certainly NOT the complete solution to your long term physical and mental health and wellbeing as you go through perimenopause and beyond. The right exercise and nutrition have a vital role to play.
